Our Practice

Rowick & Bucolo Lawyers is a specialist commercial, property, wills and estates debt recovery and litigation legal practice based in Perth, Western Australia.

Our predecessor firms include Dean & Rowick, originally established in 2003 then becoming Richard Rowick and on 1 July 2019, Rowick & Bucolo Lawyers through the formation of partnership between Richard Rowick & Francesca Bucolo. Our partners bring in excess of 45 experience to practice.

We welcome instructions in various areas of the law.

The aim of the firm is to provide high quality legal services designed to achieve our clients’ commercial objectives in a timely and cost-effective way. We see ourselves as playing a preventative role to deescalate matters.

Our litigation practice operates in conjunction with our commercial practice and handles all manner of disputes conducted in the Supreme and District Courts, the Magistrates Courts, various Tribunals and the Federal Court.

In addition to conducting court proceedings we also concentrate on alternative methods of dispute resolution, such as mediation, which can result in a satisfactory resolution of disputes with significant cost savings.

Both partners are experienced in conducting mediations on behalf of clients in both the Supreme and Federal Courts as well as before private mediators.

Supporting the partners of the firm there is a small team of dedicated professional, administrative and secretarial staff who work both in office and remotely are committed to ensuring the firm provides excellent, timely and cost effective legal services to clients.

Rowick & Bucolo Lawyers  is located in modern offices within the re-developed East Perth area, immediately behind the new Australian Broadcasting Commission building.

We are conveniently located a short distance from Claisebrook railway station and the Yellow CAT Bus route.

Richard Rowick

Partner & Solicitor

Richard specialises in commercial and property work including litigation.  He also conducts a practice advising in respect to all matters relating to indirect taxes including duty, CGT and GST and has a special interest in complex trust disputes.

He was educated at the University of Western Australia.
After graduating in law he completed a Masters degree in Tax Studies.

Richard has a diverse work history including experience in the building industry, surveying and a period of 3 years as a constable in the West Australian Police Force.  After developing an interest in the law and graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and LLB Richard became the associate to the former Chief Justice, Sir Francis Burt in 1986.  He was admitted to practice in 1987 having completed Articles with Mallesons Stephen Jaques.  In 1990 he moved to Busselton, Western Australia and practiced with Slee Anderson Pidgeon.

After returning from a year in Canada Richard joined Bennett & Co in 1992.  He became a partner in that firm until he left in 2006.

Richard Rowick joined Gary Dean to form the and firm of Dean & Rowick on 24 October 2006, practiced as a sole practitioner from (*) – 2019 and then formed partnership with Francesca Bucolo.

Francesca Bucolo

Partner & Solicitor

Francesca has broad experience in commercial litigation in multiple jurisdictions where her focus has been on mediated outcomes. She has been involved in a number of complex quality commercial matters involving application of the Australian Consumer Law, the Corporations Act 2001 and various other legislation.

She has also practiced in multiple jurisdictions and acted as in-house counsel for a large multinational corporation.

Her area of particular interest is wills and estate litigation and debt recovery.  

She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and has also obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.

In addition to her practice in the law, Francesca is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the College of Law training new graduates.
